People need to be bored. Every now and then. Gives the mind space to rest and start putting ideas together without what we’re “doing” getting in the way. A mindless task works, or meditation, or other things, or just admitting you’re between things and are going to wait out the spell before the doctor calls you in and not get out the smart phone or read about what was going on in the news 6 months ago in the waiting room magazines

Chaos and turmoil usually means basics are hard to come by. We’ll be getting there soon enough if the economy keeps sliding.

Give him something to do. I made the mistake of telling my mother I was bored. Did not do that a second time.

Why do folks insist on discussing serious subjects in a comics forum? Life is much too short to be taken seriously.

Never say you are bored in front of adults!
They’ll soon find you something to do. Something which you won’t enjoy.

Boredom breeds creativity. And, as we see here, snarky comments vaguely related to comic strips. And sometimes, some really excellent puns.

Farm kid here: You NEVER say you are bored, or someone hands you a shovel, rake, tractor, or something.

I have a friend who used to kind of gleefully long for some major calamity like a zombie apocalypse….
Until 2005, that is.
We live in New Orleans. Turns out chaos and turmoil isn’t really any fun at all.
