I’m in favor of enforcing truth in advertising laws during political campaigns. It should cut down on ads by about 75%.And jail some candidates before they get elected, instead of after.
You should have gone for money laundering like Tom DeLay , then use your campaign funds to pay for your defense, spend the time you would’ve been in prison out on appeal, then get judges beholden to your party to throw out your conviction.Ezzy peezy.
YEP ! The land and money belong to the lawyers / politicians. Might is right and money is power, after all, it’s the winners who write the laws and history. Indeed, there is a civil war II coming, hopefully not in my lifetime, I am too old to be brave anymore, but I do cry for my grand children.
I just want them to outlaw negative ads. The voters should research the candidate, not rely on his opponent to educate them. First negative ad and you’re outta there.
@HardthoughtIf a union member owns stock in his corporation, does that make him a corporation? And if so, will his split personality lead him to write to “Dear Abby”?
32 individuals contributed more money in the last presidential election than all other donors combined. That makes it seem like it is impossible for the middle class to have any say in what happens in this country. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those 32 people only have 32 votes. The Middle Class has millions…………………………………………………………………………….
………………The only thing that is going to save the Middle Class is the Middle Class. We are the 99%—- that means we have the votes to elect people who will actually represent middle class workers and provide a safety net for those who are trying to get into the middle class. We all need to know WHO is supporting the candidates. That is who they will be working for. They have no choice if they want to stay in office. You have to do the bidding of whoever is paying your way, just the same as we all do in our jobs. So, before going to vote, look it up on the internet. Open Secrets is a good site, but there are plenty ………………………………………………………………………….………………….. If the candidate is getting their money from small donors or from unions, they are going to be working for middle class working people. If their donations are from corporations or from 1%ers, that’s who their votes are going to be working for. They are not going to go against them and do anything to help the middle class.
“corporations contribute ten times the amount”I call BS. 80% of the top ten political donors, 1989-2014, are leftist, mostly unions.http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.phpSorry to burst your bubble, but lefties sling most of the campaign cash in this country.
You can take back a news story and overturn a conviction, but you cannot remove the idea of a thing from common knowledge. Once people know something, it will remain truth no matter what contradictory facts come to light. That is the essential purpose of the Big Lie. All truths become lesser and are rendered false when they contradict what is known for certain to be 100% right. The Earth is flat , demons live in the heads of political opponents that may be released by trepanation, and bears will eat you.I still believe that last one to be true, by the way.

So “Hope and Change” will put a politician in the White House and a business man in jail.

You have to first declare your intentions before collecting funds; PACS do it for political mud slinging, scammers do it for themselves.

@SizeofaPea. When we can stop unions contributing to politicians that their members do not support, then we can talk about corporations.
Union money is one of the largest factors skewing elections. When we stop that, we can discuss the other money.
BTW, if you have a 401k or Roth IRA, YOU are the corporations.
