“Whom” for direct objects and object of prepositions, please. I know it is disappearing but it is a meaningful inflection and communication is muddier when we use “who” for everything. (Yes, I’m a old curmudgeon, and proud of it.)

It’s not WHAT, y’know? It’s WHO, y’know?

Anyone willing to buy the expensive “Who’s Who” book gets to be in it.

I always thought “Who’s Who” meant something until they invited me, then told me I had to buy their expensive book. Oh well, another illusion down the drain.
