I’m surprised that Mr. Toles jumped on the bandwagon so readily. I’m not ready to. It’s awfully convenient to have Mr. Putin as the evil force behind this tragedy. Too convenient.

“Remember the Maine” was our cause to wage war on Spain. Turned out we probably sabotaged the Maine, just for that purpose.

The Gulf of Tonkin incident gave us justification to escalate the Vietnam War. In retrospect, it probably was either fabricated or staged.

We claimed that Saddam Hussein was trying to buy uranium from Niger, as an excuse for war, but that had no basis in fact, so we had to settle for cooked intelligence about non-existent WMD’s.

If history tells me anything, it is that we should wait, with open minds, before passing judgment on this air crash tragedy.

If you’ve ever wondered what sort of mayhem the Joker (of Batman fame) would do in the “real world” of today, just have a close look at Putin and his antics. The Joker has no motives tor his actions, he just acts without allowing conscience or moral values to get in his way.

The number of Putin apologists always surprise me! And attempts at clouding the issue by raising US sins? It makes you sound like a Russian shill.

Pro-Russian Separatists – if not actual Russian troops – tragically mistook MH 17 for a Ukranian transport and shot it down. This tactical tragedy is a direct consequence of strategic choices made by Premier Putin, and no amount of deflection will remove the stain.

Was the music for the jack-in-the box playing the old U.S.S.R. national anthem?

There should be no excuse today for hitting the wrong target, but: U.S. S. Vincennes shows that the Gulf of Tonkin Syndrome isn’t even wounded, let alone dead.

Putin is a creepy dude, but sorry, he looks like Tinkerbell compared to Cheney.

WE need to go back to calling DOD the “WAR DEPARTMENT”, end the pretense, and actually start working to broker some PEACE efforts in the world, even if it does cost our primary industrial production corporations some profit losses. (Based on dollar value of war profits vs peaceful products sold around the world.)

Meanwhile, dead babies rot in the fields, “protected” by drunken tin soldiers proclaiming themselves to be freedom fighters. Sounds an awful lot like Somalia to me. And if those rotting corpses were people you loved, all of these comments would mean nothing at all. Which, of course, means nothing at all, sitting here in our comfortable little nests, calling each other out for what we believe to be true. I believe I have wasted the last minutes I will ever waste caring about what people post on comment boards. Such trivial lack of awareness, generally speaking.
