That’s because people insist on giving religious (finding answers in an ancient book) or political (making up whatever you want, and then trying to get everyone to agree, or else forcing them to go along) answers to what are scientific questions (finding out what is true by comparing one’s hypotheses to reality). The application of this to congress is left as an exercise for the reader.

Heck, it took them 103 years to repeal the telephone tax implemented to pay for the Spanish-American War.

OH how I wish those who think the “experts” on nutrition speak from on high and force the ever-changing “truth” about food on others (please notice I did not mention Mrs. Obama here, but anyone who wishes should feel free to) would get this message. Our local high school district is getting ready to jettison the latest food fetish from the experts because 1. the students won’t eat it and 2. turns out it does not contain enough calories for children.

Don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.

Sunshine legislation is good in concept..A law lasts until a certain time at which point it is rescinded unless renewed. If you can’t get a majority in favor after all the pros and cons are shown, it should not exist..A danger is that those who benefit might forget to remind the legislature and those who don’t benefit might exaggerate the negatives..Properly, a committee should review and report their recommendation, but lobbyists can buy them off. Government is filled with danger, still less dangerous than anarchy..The other danger mentioned is confirmation bias: viewing all the new data as a means of proving what we already believe and ignoring any which refutes what we believe..I see lots of that here. Just people being people.

You’re cherry picking. I’m talking about the vast majority of the laws and regulations on the books. How much time does a citizen have when they’re being driven to bankruptcy by an abusive regulatory agency? Thieves and rapists get taxpayer paid legal help. Why not citizens abused by the Feds?

Every one of your “facts” is wrong. Try again.
