I tried that with my boss for my annual review, he said “sorry can’t, need to keep increasing profits” I replied "but the company used to have only a 5% profit margin, now it is 15% and they can’t give us all raises to keep up with inflation he says “If we did that we would be back down to the 5% profit margin again, no can do.”

Watching CNBC does not encourage the critical thinking required for that graph. If you want to stop this sort of behavior, put the kid in a public school.
