Didn’t Robert Heinlein write a short story with a similar Plot device? I think it was titled; ‘All You Zombies—-’

Take it easy folks, this is just the start of the target lifetime. He’ll catch up with Speranza in due time..One thing I wonder about, though. Seems to me the first life we ever saw Homer in, he was an Eskimo (his name came from the town of Homer, Alaska). Has the Reluctant Soul saga come full circle?

Meh. Maybe I’m too saccharine, but I was hoping for a happier ending in Rome. (The DOG dies??)

It seems a lot of you are leaping to the conclusion that the woman about to give birth is Hope.

If you’ve ever seen Noises Off, it’s a bit like an acting troupe coming to town and putting on a play, and sometimes the actors get to switch roles. Then on to the next town, switch again, depending on what they’re learning. If you recognize someone you just met, that’s likely it.

I don’t get it. Is his life starting over? Is she his mother? Are they going to be born together as twins?

Ah, someone who may have a truer perspective……On this note, I doubt if he will have to do anything but go where he is led…..More useful perspective adjustments :-)

@Wiley, I suspect that you have read Heinlein’s “Job”! FWIW, I prefer St. Bert to Loki :-).

That’s the thing about stories….. the ending is often open to interpretation so that we can draw conclusions that are relevant to our own lives.

Yup, I did it too…Jumped to a conclusion….Wiley was named well….sort of a foreshadowing I guess…(I know his name is spelled differently than wily, but phonetics and letters don’t always blend as well as one would hope)…

Another reason why the mother isn’t Hope – Homer has to locate Duncan first before the two of them can start their search for Hope. Then, Homer has to learn to walk…

If this is the epilogue to the Roman story, then Hope will have to be reborn again as well as Homer and Duncan.

I’m done with Homer and Duncan. This one went on forever, and left me with an, “oh no.” I’ll keep reading Non Sequitur, but not the Homer stories.
