I’ve had roommates who did that. They didn’t for long.

10-15 minute maximum is plenty. If you need more than that, you need to go to sleep earlier, or a better mattress for a deeper sleep.

The poultry snooze button is more fun. And it doubles as breakfast.

I’ve never used a snooze button. I’ve always figured if I could wait 9 more minutes to get up, then that’s when I’ll set my alarm for. Then I don’t have my sleep broken up – probably much like what Mrs. Wiz is thinking right now.

Should you use the snooze button? No! And here’s why…http://www.wimp.com/snoozebutton/(a 2 minute video)

I have sometimes thought that it would be more satisfying to turn off an alarm clock by choking it (like that rooster) rather than merely tapping a button.

And my alarm clock is sneaky. You can reach over and hit the snooze, but to turn the alarm off, you have to push a much smaller button on the front, which is hard to see unless you’re already awake and sitting up

During fire season I had to get up 2 or3 hr early so what I did was put the clock in the biggest metal cooking pot we had with the lid on just out of reach. We were poor enough we still had a tin or something like that pot.

I never understood using the snooze button. It just means you have to wake up several times. I don’t even like waking up the first time! So why would I want to do it several times???

Blanche, being the light sleeper that she is, has been wide awake since the first time the alarm went off.

Recent studies say that we are best rested if we sleep some integral number of 45 minute sleep cycles. That doesn’t count awake time at all. If you sleep in past one of those cycles, you feel less rested than if you got up at the end of the last one. That’s why, if I can’t get another 45+ minutes in before my alarm goes off, I get up for the day. I usually wake up a half-hour or less before it goes off, in any case.

I do this sometimes when I don’t have to get up, since I don’t set my alarm clock for later.
