The way that gun works is that it has a lens on the front. You wind it one way to focus the beam and make it kill, and you wind it the other way to diffuse it and make it stun. When Wally used it, he first turned it to the stun setting. I did not see him turn it back to kill. With only one hand, Holly cannot adjust it. Nor indeed can she wind it up to recharge it. I wonder if it is actually set on kill or just on stun?

And I’m sure her injury was a dislocated elbow, not a fracture.

Wally: “You don’t know how to use a blaster.”Holly: “You point and pull the trigger. How hard is that?”Wally: “Do you know how to take it off ‘stun’?”Holly: “… … You pull the trigger many, many times!”

Well those topsiders do not seem to be to worried???.Tied up without a zero gun among them. Crazed mouse pointing a blaster at them..I kind of want the blaster to have a pain, shock, and awe setting. Teach them to respect the mouse. And I ain’t talking Disney.

I had to look in the archives to confirm, we met Sam(antha) Trundle. Not Sarah. Maybe the other is a deadeye?

I seem to remember that Wally’s blaster has a focus feature. Widen the beam and you stun. Tighten the beam and you can kill.

I have a strong suspicion that these folks are only posing as topsiders—I’m sure someone’s already suggested that they’re actually the advance guard for the place Holly and Wally are looking for?

Between Sarah’s comment in the first panel and the two biosuiters not appearing alarmed in the fourth, it would seem that they have some sort of ace up their sleeve, presumably something more useful than the ability to burn through ropes.I don’t think they’re counting on that Wally probably hadn’t changed the ray gun’s setting from stun to kill. By the way, adjusting the muzzle is what focuses, diffused the beam for stun vs kill. The crank charges the weapon.

A moment of truth. Can Holly really cross over the line and pull the trigger?Talk is one thing….being angry wanting to do it is another…..actually doing it is something else.Right now she calls them monsters…..sounds like a “Flask” statement to me but I don’t think she has “Flask” in her.As far as the Topsiders. They may consider death a viable alternative to dying alone in wild from starvation, lack of water, monsters, even worse mutant behavior. Right now they have a chance…with other mutants they would have no chance.I still say neither Holly or Wally knows they are awake and very aware of what is happening. They have not moved since being tied up.I also noticed this.It was pointed out that Wally is a true engineer as he had one hand in his pocket. Right now he is an engineer dealing with a big problem. He has both hands in his pockets. The correct engineer stance.

Yeah, it’s time for the TS’ers to stop pretending to be unconscious and start talking. Unless they have something else planned. It also occurs to me that W & H could be playing good cop/bad cop for the TS’ers benefit, knowing full well that they are conscious.

I wondered whether the Topsiders’ whispered conversations were audible to anyone nearby (i. e. Wally and Holly), or some private transmission between them. Obviously they can make themselves heard outside their suits, though I don’t know how.

Given what we know about Holly’s hearing, particularly her ability to hear the monster child crying over her teddy bear, I would assume that Holly might be able to hear Sarah and her companion if they were whispering. Thus short range radio is likely.Guessing from Sarah’s words about “moving on” yesterday and getting tired about Holly’s mouth today, I’d assume she believes that they are not in danger. Quite probably that they have some kind of ace up their biosuit sleeves that we don’t know about.

How about throwing together a few items that would be totally unrelated if it all didn’t concern Holly.1. Falling forward off the clock tower when she said “I lost the baby”. I personally doubt she lost the baby during her captivity because the other two would have known because of the “evidence”. Ergo, it’s a regressed memory.2. Her first contact with a mutated being possibly shortly before being transformed. What Happened to Lyn?3. Almost losing her head (literally) at the hands of a topsider, I think who’s name is Linda and wasn’t able to deal with Linda about the experience (I believe they didn’t talk about it while in captivity because of Maude’s presence). So there’s a missing person, Lyn. A lost child, possibly fathered by Lyn, and the undealt with anger caused by the “timely” return to Endtown by Aaron Marx. Holly has plenty of issues to deal with. Consider this possible flashback: Holly and Lyn are captured by their worlds version of Homeland security. They are both locked up in a sealed room, presumably for the night. They both go to sleep. Holly is transformed and Lyn isn’t. They quickly separate the two mistakenly believing Lyn has so far escaped the mutagen when actually he is the first Typhiod Mary.Who would know? To protect him he is placed in a biosuit (probably along with the rest of the staff at that facility) and since then he has remained in hiding, possibly knowing what he is, but hidden behind the suit. He does not know what happened to Holly, but over time has not agreed with the Topsider “philosophy” of superiority. He since then has met Sarah, who either started to believe the same way or has believed all along also. They either decide to leave or are discovered by other Topsiders and leave on their own or more likely left behind without tools or methods of communication to die.

I eagerly await to be totally fooled by Aaron Neathery’s masterminded storyteling.

@JennerGot an email from Jackie E. today; she’s passing my recommendation along to the judges. Let’s hope…

Has anyone noticed that the Topsiders, considering their position, aren’t exactly acting like they’re scared and helpless…
