Andy: Mind if I change the channel? "Downton Abbey" is about to start. Roger: You're joking, right? This is the Super Bowl! It's like the centerpiece of American culture! Beer! Sodas! Uncle Jim's clam dip! You'd seriously rather watch some British PBS tea-sipping drama? Just record it with the DVR and watch it after the game is over! Or if you really can't wait, go watch it upstairs on the little TV in our bedroom. But you're dreaming if you think Peter and I are going to let you waltz in here and change the channel, mid-third-quarter... Peter: Actually, I don't mind. Lady Rose is super hot. Roger: Can someone help me get this little TV to work?! Andy: I went with darjeeling this week. Peter: Jolly good choice, mother!

Let’s go, Seattle! Redeem yourselves since XL! (I wonder what Paige and Jason are up to… hopefully not at each other’s throats.)

American football, or Downton Abbey? Both as dull as watching paint dry, I’m going to the pub …

I’m not big into sports, but I can sit and enjoy the last 1/4 and watch ’em clobber the H3LL out of each other!

“..the CENTERPIECE of American culture.” How pathetic is that.

What football all the advertising of commercials, for us we are football free zone, I have better ways to stay busy.Of course watching puppy bowl will be cute. Still TV will be off. We will have a big meal early at noon so not eating at all later.

The commercials are the best part.

I don’t care about either. The TV isn’t going on until it’s time for Sherlock.

Hey, Andy, Peter, invite Claire from “On a Claire Day” over. I think the three of you would have a great time of it today.

I had to look up a picture of Lady Rose. Peter is right. Lady Rose is a beauty. I’m surprised they don’t have a big TV for upstairs though.
I keep getting emails about how the NFL makes tons of money but doesn’t have to pay any taxes.

Ahh, the Super Bowl…when all the football haters and sports haters come out of the woodwork. The bigger the game the louder the complaining.

I suddenly get the feeling the rest of the world doesn’t care much about Seattle or Denver.

I don’t like football, but I’m pretty sure other shows don’t even bother to put on new episodes when the superbowl is on because its such a ratings hog. They basically kicked him out to watch a rerun…well it is PBS so maybe they work differently.

The game’s kind of fun, but I’m more in it for the commercials.

Downton Abbey is just a soap opera with British accents. Give me the Super Bowl any day. Go Peyton!

I’ve almost finished the series on blu-ray already (there are so few episodes in a season). I got the disks from the library, and the picture is super-sharp; really the only way to bother watching Downton Abbey.

As usual, I waited until this morning to watch Downton Abbey off the PBS Roku channel, but it appears they skipped an episode. They were supposed to show the one about Robert’s birthday party, but instead I got the episode where Robert goes off to the United States. Nothing on the show made sense. Did PBS broadcast the right show on TV? I haven’t found much information about this error.
