It actually kind of makes sense, given what we’ve seen them do in the past.

So Wally and Holly aren’t covered by dittos anymore?

Since they’re not attacking Wally, but working for him, one would think they have a decent working relationship. I don’t know that it’s possible to become friends with dittos.

This might be a good time to mug the rats, and take their survival supplies. Ya know, being security, they have early claim on best provisions. Psssst, Holly, I bet they have real cheese.JusSayin

“This is impossible! Wrecked transport tubes don’t just appear!”How dittos behave appears to depend on their programming, or if they have programming, and the minds of their associates. On the airship, they had no free will and obeyed the ship’s systems programming. In the wild in Hillside, they had no governing programming, and made it their mission to purgatize Sparkplug. They weren’t exactly hostile to Al and Gustine, but they made it clear to stay away. The dittos Wally has were recently freed from the airship systems, so they may still be working out their motivations and independence. Unlike Sparkplug, Wally is a nice enough person for them to decide to cooperate with him willingly, or grudgingly if his force of mind is strong enough for them not to resist.

These dittos were keyed to the thoughts of the users by Doc for this mission. So the sense of humor they are appropriating is theirs. Serves the Rats right.

So the ditto ball might just be another character in the epic of Endtown, huh?

I don’t think the Rats can see the tube or them. We can as the audience but from their expressions they have no clue as to what happened to the Sarge. Of course if this is the same Sarge from back when Al came back on a foraging mission I think he is going to need the medic again.

Now when the dittos go all “monster” on them…….run away they will. Their bullets having no effect on the “monster” no more than the Zero weapons used by the Topsiders in the Flask story. Just keep them occupied enough for Wally and Holly to walk off.

Here is one last thought before tomorrows story and the end(?).A guess this is.Remember how book one started……..?Not the story…..the very first page.My guess is that.

We don’t know enough yet to speculate about what’s going on in today’s strip. Either the ditto’s have turned themselves off and the rats can see what we see, or the dittos are still on and we’re seeing what Wally and Holly can see (to the rats, the pod and terrorists are invisible). If the dittos are off, Wally and Holly are going to have to start running again. On the other hand, this may terrify the rats if they realize that the terrorists are in league with Marx…BTW, love the unconscious rat’s expression. very “Mad magazine”.Another sidenote: It’s possible that what the rats were shooting at yesterday was another ditto illusion.

Coming into the discussion late on the strip going on hiatus, but what?when? how long? And what kind of content to fill the space during? I’m wondering, in part, about some fannish material to provide content during. I’ve got some shamelessly fannish stories that I could polish up and have available if he’ll have it.

In answer to the kind comments thank you I try to do what I can to help.As for my absence on Greytones it’s been a combination of Aaron’s workload being so immense in this past patch that he’s been doing them himself because by the time the strips are ready I am at work at my day job.During the hiatus I will be Greytoning a portion of the e-book’s and when that backlog is finished I will return to helping with the dailies as I was through the summer.I appreciate that you would ask, and am flattered.The last pre hiatus strip is currently in the works it will be up when it’s done as always your patience is appreciated.The primary reason for the hiatus is the fact that due to too many back to back setbacks there simply is no lead time on the strip.During this time Aaron will be rebuilding a lead on the next chapter of the story as well as working on the website, e-book’s, Auction’s, and other backlog of work related to the strip.It’s not really a rest hiatus alas it’s a getting thing’s back on track as previously mentioned some previous work is going up in it’s place I am not at liberty to say which, but it will be interesting.Thank you all on Aaron’s and my behalf.

Hmmm. Rats are not all that bright, rats have weapons, Wally can make things disappear…. Think about it. The rats gave Wally the grenade, the rats marooned W&H in the elevator. What if…What if Wally convinces the rats that they will be in big trouble if they return to Endtown. The rats need someone to salute…Instant minions! ;-)
