If you don’t like / enjoy his comments, just scroll down (I do for the most part), put in your two bits’ worth if you want to, and get on with your life! As far as I can see, he restricts his banter to this one page.

It’s not unheard of for a GoComics comments page to be turned into a friendly chat room (refer Big Top and Pibgorn – while it lasted), so your indignation seems misplaced and needlessly personal.

Do you enjoy having people ridicule you? Even as a “lurker”, I find your repeated personal attacks more disgusting than anything Afficionado has written so far. Think about it!

How can one discuss things like an adult with someone like yourself who comes across as a spoilt child?

The wife reminds me of Margaret Dumont of Marx Brother’s movies fame. But the husband is no Groucho! And I think Andy broke the 4th wall to get involved in today’s strip. Otherwise he might as well have stayed at home. (Probably he would’ve been at the track or some other pub instead of at home, of course……….)

Seriously, can’t the Mirror find better artists/writers for their flagship comic? This strip hasn’t “jumped the shark”, it’s been devoured by it, more’s the pity! I have loved AC since the 1960s, when I used to read my Uncle’s AC books when visiting at Gramma’s house, and it truly pains me to see what the present writers have done to it.

@LinguistI hadn’t seen your first comment until now but now that I think of it, this would’ve been MUCH funnier today if Andy actually was practicing ventriloquism to get the poor henpecked husband into trouble.

For “fat joke” cartoons, my all-time favorite was a Don Martin cartoon. A man was writing graffiti which said “My wife is an enormous fat freak!” The camera pulls back to reveal that he was writing it, not on the wall, but on the back of his wife, who must’ve been twenty feet tall and ten feet wide!
