You remember the VERY long ago the Batman used such lovelly noises to explain a punch or so. I can’t remember if this is one? “smeek” or was that Mad comics. Be fun if we tried some of these fun noises to explain the war up coming. Hmmm?Blessed Be

Did anyone ever notice in the old Batman series, that while their enemies were criminal masterminds, they were really bad judges in selecting hideouts. There was almost none with a level floor! Did hey all go to the same stoned out architect? And why didn’t one of the Penguins minions just slap him and say: "you sound like a duck! Its embarrassing! "Just venting….

TSOJRemember those Health Screenings at PEP stadium were to determine if you as “human” had the virus. I think that was before you mutated. That is why Sparkplug was warned by his friend NOT to go. If you mutated you had the virus so why screen. If you were still human but not mutated you were probably a “Typhoid Mary” so would have been killed any way. It turned into mass murder as the operators already had their plan in place for survival. The chosen ones were already picked. They just needed to be sure no one else survived. Instead by the words of Dottie a revolt happened and they escaped before extermination. Walt was a leader of that revolt. This to me indicates that the virus was pre-planned. Not accidental. One would create the virus knowing what it does. Make preparations for survival then release the virus on your enemy but it went out of control like any chemical attack. It is unpredictable so it went full on bad for EVERYONE not just the enemy you used it on at first. The virus is now rampant on the surface with no known cure except one. Eliminate all those exposed and/or mutated. Now announce the free medical screenings to check for exposure where every one showing up is Zeroed out. Leaving only the chosen ones behind. But to be successful ALL would have to be killed. Instead many escaped finally moving to places like Endtown to survive extermination. The group operating PEP stadium were probably the predecessors of Topsiders as we know them. So they would have to be an APEX production. APEX would then be responsible for the virus as both sides had Zero weapons and APEX response was the virus release as a final solution.

Well! Walt did let the rock chunker go with a warning (and a punch in the face. Justice served). Now we get a piece of the mystery answered.

So, the Rats aren’t even the police force of Endtown? Certainly manages to drop my sympathy for any of them even more. Keep running a community under martial law for long enough and it is going to snap and revolt.

Poor Walter. Seems like just about every hero of Endtown is a reluctant one. Not that I can blame Walter, Wally, Gustine, or Albert. At the moment the need is for survival, not heroics.

Come to think of it…I haven’t seen any Endtown Police since Holly helped Wally retrieve his stolen backpack.Isn’t it bad enough when your luggage disappears between airports? It’s time for the EP to drop whatever they’ve been doing all this time and do what needs to be done.Starting with supporting their local mayor!

Let’s put it this way. In a biological disaster would you VOLUNTARILY go get checked??Many would not for several reasons.Fear of being contaminated.Fear of being seized for being contaminated. The virus attack would have been seen as a biological disaster. There was no cure. You go in to see if you are not contaminated. What does that prove? You are clean now. Step outside now contaminated. Like any virus you can have it and it does nothing till it gets to a certain point. So all folks may have it but it has not done anything, YET. So the group in charge of the Health Screenings may have just taken the course of “eliminate them all”. Problem solved. Doing it for the GREATER GOOD of those picked to survive.

wait, Endtown has police?! What the hell are the rats then!? If the rats are only security for the surface then they shouldn’t be roaming the streets attacking people or making arrests.

The security rats replaced the regular police. Why? Veteran and mybe TSOJ suggested fear that because if Aaron Marx could do it, why can’t someone else? I don’t think anyone besides Aaron has a dimensionometer. So what’s the fear? Security replacing police is a waste of resources. Better to have a few security stationed at the police department and accompany the regular police on disturbance calls in case it’s something else. It would have provided training for the rats on how to respond to non-security issues, providing less reason for the animosity that exists (know your rat).

Has anyone thought about the dots? What protection might they provide to an infiltration of Topsiders disguised as mutants looking to destroy or “cultivate” Endtown citizenry for brains to put in P/T’s and MUTTs. Remember Linda’s nightmare? No P/T is present, but is ther an unknown Topsider? Maybe Velda?

Maybe my suggestion above HAS been considered. Then it may be why Security has taken over the function of the Police. It’s turned out to be a bad idea as things have turned out. Especially since the bottle thrower may have been an infiltrator to get rid of the rats which may have been Endtown’s defense from the Topsider.

That is, IF there’s an intruder…………

mr_sherman, I was not meaning to suggest that the entire police force was replaced by Rats. Just more Rats stationed down in Endtown because of the security breech. Probably as you say backing up the Police. Except when the call came in FOR the Police some one made sure only the Rats responded. Are sure there is only ONE devise around? Mallard knew what it was the moment he saw it, remember. So he either knew about them or had seen them before. Those devises may be only usable by their operators (Marx only) or Mallard when he had it would have zapped himself to some sunny beach with bimbos and booze. On the Topsiders using dittos. Remember Petey’s revulsion to them. He hated them calling them vermin. The Topsiders who met them with Flask had NO idea what they were except when the dittos went away one proclaimed how much they kicked its ass. The dittos seem to know folks. With Sparkplug they replayed his life over and over with him providing the dialogue and it was not about the good he did more about being the cause of all this. I don’t think the dittos would see Topsiders as “good”. Of course they respond to anything they do not know like they did with Al and Gustine BUT Al and Gustine were one could say were intruders to their “dottie” world. Why they worked for Marx is one of those unanswered questions. With Wally and Holly they led them to the Captain’s room where Flask had gone. Obviously she could read Lucherian (guess on spelling) following it to the command room where she became its captain and ordered it to crash into the Settlement or get close enough to get shot down and fall on it. Remember Marx handed Mallard a ball telling him he was smart enough to figure it out. Marx left with no further instructions. Mallard was not even surprised at Marx and his abilities. This says Mallard had seen it before or knew of its existence so no surprise when Marx produced the gum. It merely proved Mallard’s hypothesis about WHO Marx is and what he is capable of doing.

the rats were only security guards. There was a bull and a pig who were cops, and others. It will be good to see what’s been going on, and what the tie-in with PEP stadium. makes me think Al or Gustine may play a role in fixing this.

I took the Security Rats to be a defense force, charged with protecting Endtown from the Topsiders and / or other dangerous mutants…but we’ve seen the real police telling people to go home or not to try to scam criminals…so where have they been?

mr_sherman,That could be true but Sparkplug did state the dittos do not speak. According to him they constantly replayed his life over and over. So much that Sparkplug provided the dialogue just to engage in it. They would have shown the past with or with dialogue. They never spoke to Al or Gustine or roar and rage at the Topsiders. So it may be Topsiders are aware of what the dittos can do and the PT units are set up to fight them with EMP type blasts. But still I think only Marx has been able to “domesticate” them to be usable. Like on the ship. Like the rats interest in him he holds some kind of mystique that draws interest from such things.Just running over it in thinking. I too have to run. Gotta get the Cross Fit set up.
