We were sitting in a restaurant last Thursday and a big macho guy walked by carrying his girlfriend’s pink purse. My husband said ‘Hey, your purse doesn’t match your outfit’. Everyone laughed (including the big macho guy, thankfully).
If you don’t want to be the designated purse-carrier anymore, let her catch you rooting around in it when she comes back. Don’t look sneaky, just innocently curious. You might even say you were looking for some gum, or tissue. Pretty soon, she’ll won’t LET you hold it anymore.
