Wrong Day. It is Veterans Day not Memorial Day. Look up the differences.

Thank a Vet, hug a vet, pay their bill at the diner (my favorite). We needed them, now many Vets need us. Thank you for wonderful strip. (I have been reading this comic for as long as I can remember! It has always been one of my favorites!

I didn’t know the crusades had they’re own memorial wall.

How long since we’ve fought a ‘real’ war? With a declaration of war and all the other things we supposedly are supposed to do? Instead we’ve been fighting police actions, under executive order, and Lord knows what other excuses. Now none of this makes the dead any less dead or mitigates the horrors. It just gives cover to those that for whatever reason are not mindful of such things. -——As Woody Guthrie so movingly wrote,

…. Still I wonder whyThe worst of men must fightAnd the best of men must die.

Each time I visit the Vietnam Wall the experience is more poignant. The thing I like most about the Vietnam and Korean War memorials is that they don’t glorify war.

Shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. Some of us have family who served and died.

So the evil assholes who control our military start all of these never-ending wars all over the world just so they can get even wealthier (if that’s possible), and all that the dead soldiers get is a goddamn wall? Why don’t we put a stop to this madness?What is wrong with you people?

Veterans Day is the day that the 4-Fs get off to honor the vets that are working.Side note: In Ankara 1964 there was a memorial to those that served in the Korean War.We built ours in __________?
