“Try” to avoid Mrs. Swanson’s house this time. How many times has he hit it already?

But there he is with the cannon again…. and she just puts on her noise-cancelling headgear and asks him to try to do better.

I really love the general acceptance and the low expectations on Ballard St!

Maybe the Linguist needs to take his cannon over to Mrs. Swanson’s and offer to serve a return volley if need be.

Having some experience with that kind of device, make sure it is firmly mounted (that will improve your aim). It is not a laptop project. And, as Linquist will tell you, do not stand behind it when you touch it off.

Actually, the little booklet that came with his cannon quite clearly instructed him NOT to stand behind it when firing…

which is precisely why he feels safe…because, after all he is sitting down, isn’t he?

I got a video sent by my bro who is in Afganistan. It is an insurgent walking right behind a RPG as the other one fired it. First insurgent then no insurgent. I think it blew his face off. So yes kiddies never stand behind a cannon or in front of one. Had a buddie one time step right behind a 155 gun just as it was fired. That breech part came back on recoil knocking him into the ground. He NEVER did that again. He lived but it did knock him out.A recent video on youtube is of a lady launching mellons at a suit of armor. That mellon comes back as it got stuck and knocked the snot right out of her head. It is so painful to watch but so funny. It has made the trips here at the office.

As I run to the Tiki with a pig (spelling intentional) pot of sausage gravy and my own southern style biscuits to feed the masses of B.S. just waking up, I enjoy the day, and take the back alley around the home of the cannonites, just to be safe…turning back onto the street in front of Linquists house because I know I wont be shot there…unless he is returning fire…I leave a note at the Tiki asking the streets residents about inviting a couple of non-residents to the Halloween party Saturday night…They are kewl people…and would fit in here delightfully….

HEY you folks on the east coast need to kick some of the UNIONS butts. I just read crews from Alabama up there to restore electricity were sent home by the UNION people up there. Seems they dont want the help from NON_UNION workers wanting to help. That is why I LOVE TEXAS.Unions dont control anything here. What they do control has more issues than you can count. Unions were necessary way back when but now you guys have to wait for power because the UNION says so.Good luck folks. Hang in there. And if I were you I would be mad.

All eager and willing to obey his every command.Drank some Wild Turkey once. Did not experience that. Matter of fact upchucked it later, hangover needing a bloodymary to fix, and crossed eyed for a week.I mean they call it TURKEY turkey.Where is the GOOD stuff hiding out.OH YEAH. TIKI BARThose banana flavored whatchamacall its. Dashielkeees?BANANA, BANANA, BANANAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am heading to Chilis tonight. El Presidente Margaritas and a big bowl of chili. Ahhhhhh. Texas.

    Monkey…. Hail yeah!

And Bev… I love regular Three Musketeers, too.

Heck, I’ll settle for Two or Four or Five Musketeers…. bring ’em on!

I don’t have any Payday…. I like them but I prefer those Planters Peanut Block thingies…. haven’t seen either in a long tme.

Believe it or not, one of my favorite peanut candies is something I can only find around here at Dollar Tree….Old Dominion Peanut Squares…or when I’m lucky, bars.Like peanut brittle only more peanuts and less…um… brittle, I guess.Even better, though, is the best peanut brittle I’ve found, which is from See’s Candies….but it’s about $16 a pound and…. well…I don’t think so….

I gotta go out and try to get some more tomatoes from the local farm where I got the last batch.

Mine are about finished outside. A few handfuls of cherry tomatoes still coming in…for which I am thankful…and a few green Early Girls clinging to the plants…they may or may not ripen.

I may have described the place I go…it’s a small, old, farm, nursery and produce market, once on the edge of town but now an island in a sea of housing development and small strip malls.

When I was looking for the phone number an hour ago I found, amazingly enough, a video of the place.

Just in case anybody wants to see it…here’s Imwalle Gradens

Kinda wordy and the host spends too much time on the seasonally vacant cold frames and greenhouses, instead of in the produce market, but it’s a cool place!I buy my tomato and sweet pepper starts here most years.

Whew…. got back just in time to slide into tomorrow without taking the bus to the next block…

I’m not quite sure how that works, but…. here I am!

Bri (and Bev) — after getting my tomatoes…. 23 pounds! …. I went on a quest for Mint Three Musketeers…. well, OK, truth be told, I only went to Target…but there were none to be found.

Not in the Halloween bags on sale, not in the aisle with the regular bags that look exactly the same but are NOT on sale….not even in the single bars…but everybody said “Oh yes, we carry them”…so…. one of these days!

Oh…. and yes, I’ve had almond brittle, and pecan brittle (and pralines, BTW) …and my favorite, probably… cashew brittle.Love ‘em all….though I’ve had pralines that were crunchy, some chewy and some soft and kinda fudgy, and I liked the chewy ones least. Not really sure how they’re s’posed to be… everybody says “Ours are authentic!"_

Bri — three flavors was before my time, but Three Musketeers bars were huge when I was a kid, and their ads said “Big enough to share.”

I rarely buy single candy bars… I don’t eat many, and it’s usually little ones that come in bags, from a discount store or post-holiday sale.

Just the other day some friends told me they cost over $1 now…. I was glad to see that’s not true.69¢ at Target…. woulda paid that to try a mint 3M.
