    We keep scented candles in the bathroom (for obvious reasons) and have come to use the phrase “light a candle” as an analogy for, well, doing one’s business on the toilet. So Wiley’s proverb still applies!

    My buddy did that on his motorcycle once. Luckily he only lost his eyebrows and a bit of hair.

    One of the darwin awards was for a guy in Brazil that checked the tank of a gasoline tanker with a lighter. Blew him more than 100 meters.

    Bruno Zeigerts—-I think that TNT stands for Tri Nitro Toluene, otherwise known by the common name of dynamite.

    Wiley, don’t bother asking him any questions. He probably can’t hear you.

    @CFinFL

    Actually TNT and Dynamite are two very different things. TNT is a chemical compound while Dynamite is Nitroglycerin stabilized by being mixed into diatomous earth or nitro cellulose. The stabilization is necessary because nitroglycerin itself is sensitive to shocks.

    Does anyone remember or have Wiley’s great poem about bravery? You know, the one that ended “The bravest one of them all, was the first to eat an Oyster raw.”

    And NitroGlycerine is Not a chemical compound?
    TriNitroToluene is simply a tad more stable than Nitroglycerine.

    I think that was Troob in Wizard of Id. It went:
    Listen to me and I’m sure you’ll agree
    that the bravest man in eternity
    was neither a soldier or champion of law,
    but the first to devour an oyster, raw.
