No? Terd Crooze is altogether the equal of Sleepy, Frothy or Bachmann when it comes to being a dominionist in good standing. The difference is that Crooze is sufficiently smarter that he knows he has to kind of keep a cork in it, at least until he’s in power.
At this point, it seems to me Donald Trump serves as the Bad Man. While Republicans want those who would vote for him, they obviously don’t want Trump himself. Not that they necessarily despise his principles, but they perceive Trump won’t win. So they will hold their noses and push Cruz into frontrunner position. The campaign is becoming a morality play, and I wonder if they haven’t actually made a secret deal with Trump in that regard..It reminds me of the bogus Good vs. Evil setups in Kurt Vonnegut’s CAT’S CRADLE. In that book, two benign scoundrels take the opposing roles in a small Caribbean island’s political life: One becomes the Evil Dictator, the other the Holy Man. The holy man is called Bokonon, and he starts a religion full of harmless lies (foma) that make life bearable through satire and cynicism. Bokonon explains the Good vs. Evil setup in calypso verses (I here insert the names of Trump and Cruz):.“Donald Trump, he’s so very bad,But without bad Donald, Ted would be so sad;Because without Donald’s badness,Tell me, if you would,How could wicked old TedEver, ever look so good?”
Liberal pundit Mark Shields recently called Trump “criminally uncurious” while conservative pundit David Brooks said that Trump “can’t control his ignorance” and that Trump’s “knowledge base is miniscule.” I have NO idea why both of them were so much easier on Trump than Trump deserves!
Trump Towers is burning down, the GOP has no where to go but Cruz. Make that no where to go but down. Jumping from the frying pan and into the fire, there are no viable Republican candidates (AGAIN).

I would have liked this better if Cruz were trying to coax the elephant into jumping out of a frying an into a fire

But Mr Lindsey has now throw his considerable weight toward Cruz. Lindsey would rather be poisoned than shot apparently.
