In more recent years, lots of strange birds roosted on that island.

Cats’ reputations have not diminished in modern times. A good ‘mouser’ is still a good bet, that is, if you have rodents. One neighbor cat performs ‘mole patrol,’ while another works on making squirrels uncomfortable. If they didn’t try to decimate the bird population, they would be the perfect predator for the average subdivision.

As to fungi having ‘animal’ traits, the one example I ever saw of a person who demonstrated ‘fungi’ traits is now spreading his spores in a deep southern state. Nothing on the ‘fungi eradication’ shelf will stop it. Shining lots of light on it might slow it down, but it is self-replicating in other locales.

Bob used to be a fun guy until he was taken over by the fungi.

So what does the name, Alcatraz, have to do with seabirds?

I have always thought of myself as a “fun guy”! But, never an animal.

And the first seabird they observed escaping the island was named “Clint?”

Pelicans greeted the Spanish explorers and fed the Great White Sharks.

Too bad the cat didn’t get any of the Brit rats.

As the pandemic comes into control and visits with relatives start again, watch your toes.

How can fungi be closer o animals than plants? Fungi are a group of living organisms which are classified in their own kingdom. This means they are not animals, plants, or bacteria. Unlike bacteria, which have simple prokaryotic cells, fungi have complex eukaryotic cells like animals and plants.Does that mean, as a vegan I have to give up mushrooms?
