I never thought of doing that till the other day when I saw a woman do it. Duh!
I rarely seek to park as close as I can to the entrance way. I usually opt for parking a little further out next to a light pole or tree. At least it helps narrow down where my car would be.

All that honking, sounds like a wild goose chase.
My car is usually easy to find. A temporary push on the panic button honks the horn 3 times. A long push starts the panic mode.
