Oh no. One of the saddest, Peanuts arcs…
Did Snoopy leave the stove or fireplace unattended?
Indeed a sad day in the Peanuts saga.
Smoking in bed again?
Pool table? where the heck he put that in his small mansion?
Now how did that start?
Snoopy has a Van Gogh?!
The chateau fire in Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown was more epic than that.
The Red Baron is using tracer bullets. Is that roast Camel I smell?
Oh no! Snoopy has put so much work & time into his " home"… What will he do?
It was the CAT NEXT DOOR!!!
I do not remember this one.
It truly was sad, because this arc ran the year that Schulz’ own house burned down. It was a bad year all around for him. His father died during a visit, and then he lost his house. I think was partly a way for him of working it out.
Snoopy pays the price for smoking in bed
Get Met. It pays.
I don’t remember this story. It should be interesting to see how he replaces his house.
No extinguisher, Snoopy?
His Sopwith Camel!!!This was the Red Baron’s doing! I just know it!
SPOILERSIn the coming days, we will see Lucy at her judgmental worst. She keeps suggesting that Snoopy was probably smoking in bed. As far as I know, Snoopy has never smoked! Then, she suggests that it is divine punishment for his sins. I wish that Snoopy was the biting type.
Awwwwww! Poor little Snoop.Wish I could cuddle him!xxx
Get the hose! Get the hose!
It wasn’t the cat getting back at Snoopy, was it?
Snoopy’s Red Baron fantasies got the best of him.
awww…. my heart breaks seeing snoopy like that.
Don’t forget…. his WWI Sopwith Camel has also now gone up in flames. He is now grounded.
Is Snoopy a Gallifreyan beagle? It could explain his doghouse being bigger on the inside than out.
Little Doghouse on the Prairie?
@geeski: in the center of the swimming pool, where else?
If that was supposed to be funny, it’s not. Though Snoopy can be a jerk sometimes, I actually feel very sorry for the guy, hope he rebuilds his doghouse soon.
I have this strip poor Snoopy yes Lucy said he was smoking in bed though I don’t know of any dog who does then she said he was being punished for his sins Snoopy hasn’t sinned has he?!!!…..in the book The Gospel according to Peanuts the writer says Snoopy is the Christ like figure though this sounds mean who wishes Lucy’s bedroom would burn??!!!!!!
Snoopy actually ends up with an even better dog house.
It’s rather sad that they make no effort to put out the fire. Much of the house is still not consumed.
Amy, with all due respect, please don’t bring religion into this. Snoopy has not sinned, and I seriously doubt he is a smoker. Snoopy is a dog, and this happens in life a lot, does not mean at all that people whose houses are burnt deserve it or anything. Accidents happen, and It is the way of nature, nothing more, nothing less. This is a comic, and if Schultz was religious, I doubt he wanted this particular strip to symbolize anything.
In the Peanuts TV series episode “Reach for the Stars”, Lucy thought that Snoopy had a fireplace, a barbecue grill, or even a pizza oven.
