    I think it’s quite amusing that the folks who really are deranged about il Douche have chosen to label the folks who are merely astounded and horrified with that label.

    Any of those senators who are caught not paying attention should lose their votes.

    It’s obvious that Trump is covering something up. He’s wearing pants.

    Trump is quite deranged, yes. Seems to have caught on with the entire Republican side of the Senate.

    But it’s OK, we’ll ensure that many of them get to retire and go home next year.

    Anti-democratic lawless Republicans are covering for their vile racist law breaking above the Constitution president.

    Never vote for any republican for anything, they are totally corrupt and abusive.

    Only thing I would say to the senators, all of them, and refer to their much-adored constitution. . .

    Maybe Payne will get it when Russian paratroopers are landing on Capitol Mall and their frogmen are swimming up the Potomac. Or when the Republicans get rid of the free press and he stops getting paid to support the party line.

    You can call it a syndrome if you want, Payne. John Bolton called what the democrats object to a “drug deal”.

    From the party which told us in complete earnest that Obama was “the Antichrist” and that Hillary Clinton was running a child-sex ring from the basement of a pizzeria which doesn’t have a basement.

    I’m thinking maybe I’ve been a little harsh on some of you characters, because of the information bubble. Perhaps you really don’t think Trump broke any laws.

    So I’ll explain:

    This is the relevant law as regards solicitation of foreign “things of value” for a campaign.

    (a)Prohibition It shall be unlawful for—(1)a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make—

    (A)a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election;

    (B)a contribution or donation to a committee of a political party; or

    ©an expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication (within the meaning of section 30104(f)(3) of this title); or

    (2)a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation described in subparagraph (A) or (B) of paragraph (1) from a foreign national.

    (b)“Foreign national” defined As used in this section, the term “foreign national” means—(1)a foreign principal, as such term is defined by section 611(b) of title 22, except that the term “foreign national” shall not include any individual who is a citizen of the United States; or

    (2)an individual who is not a citizen of the United States or a national of the United States (as defined in section 1101(a)(22) of title 8) and who is not lawfully admitted for permanent residence, as defined by section 1101(a)(20) of title 8.

    * * * * *

    So, let’s review the matter. Trump DID solict a thing he considered of value from the Ukraine government, an announcement into an investigation of Biden.

    During this solicitation, he with held funds appropriated by Congress. Which involves another law, detailed by the Government Accountability Office in this document :

    https://www.politico.com/f/?id=0000016f-aee6-dda2-af6f-efef31580000

    So that’s two laws Trump has broken, the GOP defense has seemed to boil down to “so what!” and

    More like a severe outbreak of TDS, Deranged Trump Supporters..

    I have found it is useless to try and argue or reason with Followers of the Cult of Trump. And let’s be honest, that’s what this has become. The Republican Party, such as it was, ceased to exist in 2016, and most that knew better left the party. There are a few that still remain in the CoT, who aren’t glad swillers of the warm, yellow, unsweetened Kool-Aid Trump puts out, but those that aren’t under the thrall of their Dear Leader use him to prey upon those that do for their own personal gain and positioning for after he’s gone.

    Trying to criticize their Dear Leader, or even have an objective discussion, with a Cult Follower gets the results you’ve already seen. Anger, the pushing of carefully (or sloppily) produced documents from fringe websites, Fox Infotainment, or other spurious sources. All you can do is nod, say OK, and move on, hoping that you can deprogam them after the CoT era, but there will be those that will always be willing Followers, so it’s only a hope. Some are just prone to become followers of this cult or that, and Trump, a bad businessman and mediocre reality TV actor, has a certain personality that attracts segment of followers and fans, despite being shown that the “Legend of Trump” is a fiction.

    I could go on, but most of you already know all this.

    Geez Hank. Trump may be a lying, tax cheating, misogynistic, charity money thief but I wouldn’t call him deranged.
