The hypocrisy lies in Trump posing with a Bible after ordering violent and brutal means to create the opportunity. The hypocrisy is compounded by the fact that Trump doesn’t follow the principles expounded in the good book. And where do you find him on Sunday? Not in church but on the closest golf course.
Two wrongs make a right wing cartoonist or a Fox News reporter ? Last night I saw a news clip of Hannutty on Fox talking about dirty cops going after Trump. You know, The FBI’s Comey ! He said he was in no way making any comparison to the tragic death of George Floyd (at least he knew his name) and then again repeated Trump had been a poor victim of bad, dirty, evil cops and has suffered. Then again assured the viewers again he would never compare in any way Trump’s injustice to that of George Floyd. What are the chances that Hannutty had received a “perfect” telephone call before his show aired? Again we must remember that his report was in no way, etc. etc, etc. Well, of course not.
20 minutes before curfew Barr’s prison thugs gassed and shot people with pepper balls which leave a huge bruise, so Trump could take a book he never read to a boarded up church he never went in.
This is what arrogant vicious lying Republicans think of American citizens.
Shame on President Trump for having his goons attack peaceful protesters in order to facilitate his photo op – all while he was claiming to be an “ally of all peaceful protesters”.
The Black Caucus brought those scarves and passed them out. This sounds like SHARING of culture and IMO it would have them disrespectful for the Dems to refuse to wear them.
But of course the RW wants to change the subject from reform for police departments to talk about scarves.
Clumsily flaunting the Bible full of lessons Trump clearly doesn’t understand isn’t the issue of importance. Having military and police forces roust a crowd of Americans exercising their constitutionally protected rights in public so he could stride across the street to make a fool of himself is the important issue. It must be noted that religious leaders also don’t understand biblical stories.
As well as the other issues (like teargassing, not asking permission to use the church, you know…) kente cloth is a symbol of regional identity rather than a religious symbol. But yeah. There is nothing more weak than an argument of false equivalence.
The problem was not limited to using a sacred text for which he has no respect, but includes his ordering the clearing of peaceful protestors. Leaders should use photo opportunities to spread their message; a picture is worth a thousand words. Sadly, Trump does not have that much of a vocabulary.
“Man up,” Varvel … You should have included the Congressional Black Caucus in your “#45 Tweet-quality” cartoon! But then you’re probably as courageous as “Commander-in-Chief Bunker Boy!”
Nancy trying to get back up after her pandering stunt (and what a cunning stunt it was – :) ) made a new commercial for an old product…“Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”.
Is wearing the Kente cloth equivalent with holding up the Bible in a photo op? By wearing the kente cloth, Pelosi is not pretending to be black. But, holding up the Bible, Trump is pretending to believe in Christianity. Maybe wearing the kente cloth is pandering, but I still have to say professing a religion when you clearly don’t share it’s beliefs is worse.

So true, but I’m wondering how many people will catch the underlying hypocrisy being pointed out. Probably too subtle.
