    No he didn’t claim imagination was more important than knowledge. He said you need both in appropriate measure.

    Einstein credited the Theory of Relativity to his imagination. He read that a person in an enclosed object can not tell how fast he is going and that the speed of light is a constant and he wondered then if a person going the speed of light could figure that out by looking in to a mirror.

    What’s important is knowing the difference and keeping them apart. Too much of what “we know” is really just imagined, especially about the past.
