Anybody remember the movie “Pride of St. Louis”? Dizzy Dean is on the mound, it’s in the late innings of an important game, and he calls time out to talk with his catcher. Shot goes to the stands where a young lady asks her beau what they’re talking about. “Oh, strategy, what to pitch next, that kind of thing.” (Paraphrased) Shot back on Dizzy talking to catcher: “Hey, is that shotgun of yours still for sale? I think I’d like to buy it. Wanted to let you know in case I missed you after the game.”
This is the second of two slams on judge this week. First he was declaring her testimony to be inadmissible because it was not on the police report, and then today he is thinking about fishing instead of the case before him. Usually the justice system takes a few humorous slams whenever Lynn Johnston went into a courtroom story and this one is no exception.
