I met a mechanic when I was 16, ended up marrying him. For 35 years, never worried about my car.

Well with all the computer stuff on cars now, the water pump and the stereo are probably interrelated

my car broke those two with an “AND”……..water pump seized up on my car while entering highway, tore the timing belt and also destroyed alternator which made power spike that took out stereo and some other electronics. that was two months past end of five year warranty, maybe they put a timer in there……

As a mechanic in my past I have observed the phenomina. I had a lady come in complaining her car was shaking. The boss got with her selling her new tires, shocks, wheel alignment, life time brakes, brake rotors and completely rebuilding the front end.All that was wrong when I looked was she had lost a wheel weight on one tire. This caused a shake as the tire was out of balance. That is why I am no longer a mechanic. There are some good but some bad. I do my own mechanic work now. My wife one time came to me complaining the car would not start. She asked me to check the oil. Explaining in her own way that if the car does not have enough oil it will not start. I told her a dead or low battery would do that too. She laughed “What does a battery have to do with the car starting?” I just gave up trying to explain. Changed the oil. Damn car started. (I know why battery regained enough reserve sitting while changing the oil) She was sooooo smug. Later that day did change the battery. She found herself 20 miles out and down. Changed the battery, car fine. Now I was SMUG.

It’s the drumming and screeching guitars causing that noise in your engine.
