I think it was simply cashing in on the Wii’s brand popularity and also just very lazy marketing on Nintendo’s part. Just watch: everyone thought the Wii was a ridiculous name/idea, but once people played it, they loved it. Nintendo will show us how cool it can be. Unfortunately, they will probably be the only ones to really take advantage of the new controller. But, the gamepad can and will be used like a regular controller, no need for the touch screen. (my two cents, which in today’s dollar= zero)
