This is not about “fashion.” It’s about a little kid being mesmerized by “bells & whistles.” Got one of those. Challenging to talk him into something that he’ll still wear next week.

One thing about growing older is that you don’t give a flip what other people are wearing and doing.

How does glow in the dark, and tunes make a person feel “professional” seems oxymoronic to me…

The way he phrased it, the part that makes him feel “pro” is another feature. Brand name, perhaps, or styling, or something of the kind.

The pain should make him feel stupid, but as a troll in the Enchanted Forest he’s already got a lock on that. :)

Didn’t even know trolls wore shoes (maybe that is why they hurt?)! Me give me my Birks and Crocs any day! For dressing up, well long pants and long dresses hide the Birks pretty well…. though I do have a few pairs of comfortable flat “dressy” shoes if needed. No heels (shudder!) even though I’m “vertically challenged”.

It’s a funny thing about shoes that hurt –

Every time (and I do mean every time) I hear a woman complain that her shoes are killing her, I look down and see she’s wearing high heels.

I tell her the high heels are the reason her shoes hurt, and that she should wear flats.

And every time (and I do mean every time) she’ll tell me the shoes she has on now are nothing compared to some shoes she has at home with even higher heels.

Which is proof enough that women are insane.

(no offense ladies – men are insane too, only for different reasons)

Steve Martin has a bit called “Cruel Shoes,” and here’s where you can read it:
