I bet Carlson and Resler was using the pipe to get across that “1950’s dad” look when referencing “The Beaver” and Ward Cleaver. Honestly, that reference is too old for most readers. I would try and stay away with the OLD OLD OLD references unless the guys want to have a small audience. What is this guy… like 58??? 40 would be a better target age… and that age doesn’t reference Beaver… Maybe Beavis, but not Beaver.

David Jones, if Gray graduated from college in ‘83 (as implied by the calendar on the wall yesterday) then he’s 51 or so. Those of us who are 58 graduated from college in ’75.

Besides, they reran the old Beaver shows for decades.
