Someone NOTICED. 3 million jobs are unfilled because there are no local qualified applicants. Some of this problem exists because the UnEmployed can not sell their house and move to where the jobs are- the mortgage is underwater. Thanks again house mortgage industry.
Sorry, this strip dosen’t work. No shortage of engineers, etc, just companies not willing to pay them: -http://www.numbersusa.com/content/learn/issues/high-tech-workers/there-no-tech-worker-shortage.html-http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/1096042957001/the-myths-of-the-high-tech-worker-shortage/-http://www.thesocialcontract.com/artman2/publish/tsc1003/article_606.shtml
Kind of in this situation myself. My industry fired all of us engineers about 6 years ago, but still need us to do the work. Now they hire us as contract laborers at the same pay rate, but they don’t have to pay benefits and we do 5 times the work as before. There are very few Americans left, since even our tech schools are behind the rest of the world, particularly India, China, Malaysia, and the Philippines. I have had to pay my own way to Sweden and Finland just to get the training needed to stay competitive. Companies no longer offer on the job training, and complain there are no qualified workers. The job postings list more than a dozen required skills for each position, which is nearly impossible to meet if you have not been an engineer for at least a decade.
Well of course we can’t produce Hi-Tech job candidates. Those people have to read. You know who reads?! Liberals! Can’t have any of those. Which must mean that all of you………..

Good idea. However, spending money that way could interfere with the CEOs mega-million $ bonus.

Amazing. In one word you managed to prove Lew’s point. I am truly impressed.

Doc, I’m just 2 hours from the border. My wife teaches gender studies, so they’ll be after us first. You have any pull in Quebec?
