No, I think he’s saying that the GOP is desperate for a popular, socially conservative, religious presidential candidate. Hence Tebow. Though Tebow isn’t old enough to run yet.
No Harley, he’s saying the GOP wants Tebow to be available to run. If he still can play football, he might not want to go through all of the crap that goes with running for President. BTW, a few Sunday’s ago Howie Long had a commentary on the Fox Network pre-game show about Tebow’s many many good qualities, both on field and off. He made the comment that it was too bad Tebow couldn’t ever run for President due to his being born in the Phiiilpines to American missionaries. Which only proves that Howie doesn’t know the laws concerning Presidential qualifications. He probably gets his political analysis from Fox News.
If they pray hard, maybe they can resurrect Ike and change that Constitutional Amendment to let him serve again… no, if they could do that they would probably pick Reagan instead.
Apparently, if your parents are American citizens and you areborn on foriegn soil, you are still a US citizen eligible for the presidency. @Harley: Keith isn’t actually advocating for the end of Tebow’s career. It’s just a funny about how the “Anyone but Romney” wing of the Republican party is longing for a conservative that doesn’t think in wing-dings, (Bachman) Have a Google problem, (Santorum) or freak out hard-core fundamentalists because they don’t like his sect of Christianity (Willard M. Romney.)
