Who cares if it isn’t a word? It’s so tasty that it ought to be.

hmm, perhaps there is a market there for headphones and apps that will allow kids to study on the buses. Imagine a whole bus of kids just staring at their little screen-devices.

I think the full phrase is the Taft-Hartley Commutative Property of Quantum Entanglement.

Maybe you CAN re-organize thought processes by re-arranging the concepts. Maybe even sequence…Except the teacher’s TEST will be in HIS terms. If you ‘GET’ it but can’t explain it in HIS terms, you’re in trouble.

A LOT of science and tech is in the vocabulary…theirs.

If Caulfield wasn’t a bit of a loner, he could form a posse commutative.

    In math, A + B = B + A is an example of a commutative operation. Caulfield’s riff is a little more like A*(B+C) = AB + AC — a transitive operation. Haven’t thought about this since 10th grade!

The actual quote “A little LEARNING is a dangerous thing…” would not be nearly as funny.

In a similar vein: If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

This is a particularly funny strip, since the original quote is mostly misquoted anyway!

A little learning is a dangerous thingDrink deep, or taste not the Pierian springThere shallow draughts intoxicate the brainAnd drinking l largely sobers us again (!)
