Yep, the ACLU isn’t going to win any popularity contests. That’s what happens when you tell people that people they disagree with have Constitutional rights, too.

The idea behind the ACLU is a good one. A good idea gone bad. One issue I have is that they are not interested in individual cases, i.e., justice. They only want to set precedent, and (in my opinion) to get attention.
If they were defending civil liberty, great. But they are trying to redefine it.
It’s nice to see at least some of the commenters: fritzoid, comicgos, prfesser actually understand what the ACLU does. Thanks for not spouting unintellectual tripe.

Like it or not if not for the ACLU we would all be screwed. They at least make the Gov. pretend we have rights anyway.
