VLDAZZLE I know that you believe that you understand what you think I said, but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Le Petomane lives on in Burl Penny! Gasp!!! Don’t anyone light a match. And Burl, I don’t understand, you and your bassist, Jerry Zwank, are well-known for your impromptu performances.

I hate to brag, but if I double up on my Metamucil, I can do Flight Of The Bumblebees while roasting marshmallows or stripping paint.

    Mornin’ All —

    More cowbell!

I thought the waitress(ter?) was Timmy at first….

I’m with Marg in thanking Burl.

I know the sign says “Show your stuff,” but there s some stuff I’d rather not see. Or know about.

I…um… think that includes Col. Crustwood’s ….er… talents too.

Wow, GymShoe you were up late I guess — rare (though nice, of course) to see your comments on top.

BTW — The site has indeed been slow for me too, though at least this time, most pages do open after a while.

For those who don’t know – if you have a “My Comics” page and read comments on several strips, it saves a lot of time to always right-click and choose “Open link in a new window”….

That preserves the main page so you don’t have to reload.

While waiting for one strip to open, I start another one loading, so at any given time I have about three or for windows open on different pages of GoComics.

And it’s much faster, and also seems more reliable, when you click on the title of each comic rather than “Comments” and then “See all comments.”

And Marg — thanks for telling me about your foot. Wow.I’ve never been taken apart that thoroughly!I had no idea… but the well-wishes remain the same.

Thanks for going back to read that post, as well.

And…um…so you have a purple cast now….? Hmm…. might be time to cut down on the grape juice.Or is it the Manischewitz?Shabbat Shalom!

And yet another strip that reminds me of The Sounds Of Silence & how much I’d like to see Burl put a sock in it.

Watch out!! Burl’s going to order a bean burrito.

Personally, I think I’d rather listen to Burl’s talent (with a gas mask on) than “Tie a Yellow Ribbon ’round the Old Oak Tree” or, worse yet, “Knock Three Times.” How can Elvis be gone and Tony O. still around? It ain’t justice, I tell ye!

And in conclusion…who is the marketing genius who thought “Sag Harbor” was a great name for a line of women’s clothing? I know it’s a fancy location in NY, but it sounds like something Julie made up for Joy’s tops.

@ LEAKY, I finally got back to read yesterday’s comments and with Susan’s on the psilocybin mushrooms, I understand you were speaking tongue in cheek. You may have noticed my comments are seldom amusing, because (I’ve been told) I think like an engineer. I also never speak loudly, much less shout ;-P

I like Susan’s idea on using multiple tabs, but I already keep my home page on one (with news and weather in all the cities where my kids live) another to read 2 strips on Arcamax and 11 on my home paper, another tab for FB.

In case anyone is interested, I have some delicious toasted marshmallows left over from Halloween that nobody seems to want.

    They have beautiful brown crusts.

    Yours for the asking.

    I love being thoughtful.

Burl only showed off that talent once. He went to a talent agent and said “I have a great act — I can fart the Star Spangled Banner!”

Talent agent says, “OK, show me.” Burl drops trou and starts sh*tting all over the room! He sh*ts in the corner; he sh*ts in the wastebasket; he sh*ts in the agent’s hat!

Talent agent screams, “What the @#$% are you doing?!”

    Burl replies, “Clearing my throat!”

Aw *Leaky…. you *know I always love it when you are on top!(cough)

I just meant it was nice to see GymShoe show up first this morning, cos he usually gets his comments in late — but not that you should be bumped permanently.

    Sigh…. touchy, touchy……

GymShoe — I’m getting that problem too, but not as often as you, I think.

Sometimes it says to load the rest but there don’t seem to be any more — it just changes to “refresh list.”

And the comments count often says one or two more than I see, so I don’t know whether there are actually more than I can read.

BTW, we have a Mirabel’s too (but one L), here in N CA —

about 15 miles toward the coast from me, sorta out in the woods…. but not German. Never been there though.

Dave — FireFox has a built-in spell checker for web forms like this (also enlarges text in them if desired,) while Internet Explorer does neither.

I don’t think Chrome does either; not sure about Opera.

That’s why I stick to FireFox.Any chance that’s what you use at home, and IE at work?

When the economy isn’t upside down, I do tutor people on the computer -

I’m no hardware geek but my peculiar talent is determining and building on available skill sets on an individual basis, rather than leaving people blinking in my dust.

So I like to think I’m good at listening to questions instead of just “teaching.”

Just thought of this…. @GymShoe you DO try again, don’t you? Cos I do get that message but I immediately refresh and try again, and it almost always works.

That said, it’s slower than usual, and so are the individual pages, in opening.

To all — I’m stickin’ with it though, cos I still think they’ll get it together, and it’s the best site for comments.

I can read most of my strips anywhere, but some of my favorites are not on Arcamax; Houston Chron, Yahoo and Seattle PI have no comments…

Mostly, it’s that I like these particular forums and all of you guys ….much more erudite and intelligent than most boards….. and if it’s free or almost so, well….what the heck.I don’t feel like they owe me anything; I’m just glad they’re trying.

Refresh works very well for me as well, Susan. I might also recommend copying your comment before your post, in the event it does not post. I can kick myself when I don’t do that on some of my longer posts – but I don’t make too many of those. I usually try to keep them short one-liners.

To elaborate, I make most of my comments from work, so I don’t have a lot of time to kill. Though I might have more time on weekends, I always find other things I need to get done.

The only way I can spell check here is to paste or write in email or Word as I uses IE, And LEAKY, I actually appreciate some kidding just shocked about the shouting. I will not be commenting much tomorrow as I need to get into my WARM medieval garb and on the road by about the time I normally just sit down here for morning grapefruit. I should show up by 8AM for a Christmas archery shoot where we must finish with archery by 10 as we will be sharing site with others after that time. Morning will be in the 50s and we have had record lows lately. I plan at least 4 layers of knit and woven silks. I will try to keep my ittle Fitzroy warm enough.

Grapefruit is my “pre-breakfast” except for days when I’m in a hurry such as today. I got up earlier than normal to put on many layers and no grapefuit today, but I’ve got a bunch of chopped fruit and yogurt to take with me (and the oatmeal cookies that I’m sharing). I might eat bacon once in a while even now, but normally eat meat only without nitrates (even pepperoni and hot dogs). I prefer eggs fried in butter; they look dirty fried in the fat, as I like my bacon very well done.
