Gotta hand it to Aaron – his mutts creep me the hell out! I think it’s the soulless smiles. Brr! Also, I like the shift to stark brightness after all the months of shading – it seems to exemplify the sterile environment of the TopSiders.

The Topsiders were so good at weeding out mutants and putting their brains into MUTTS and soon all they had left were MUTTs…

This can’t be the normal state of things. Flask came from this environment so she knows what should be here. Doug & Linda and Linda Jr are proof that this setup is not the status quo. The jaws of the trap are quivering…

Maybe the Topsiders have become extinct and the Mutts are carrying on the program.

BRAVO Level Head! I just had to sing it and it scans really well. :) . As for the strip… shivers, Aaron. Will Linda say anything to Petey? Does she even know about the trap?

Are the doggies controlling or monitoring something? Can they be disrupted?

And does that rocket contain a surveillance satellite or maybe the last escape pod of the last topsider in this area?

What’s on the monitor the mutts are working on? Looks like belts and pulleys. Hardly the workings of a rocket. Orbits?

Maybe the mutts became self-aware and took over…hmm…but that wouldn’t explain Doug & Linda…

Things we know: Oct 12, panel 3. Wally sees something in the distance, but we never find out what it was.Doug and Linda were on patrol expecting to intercept mutants.Wally and Holly were not the first mutants that Doug and Linda had encountered.Doug and Linda expected the mutants they intercepted to be on a mission.Doug and Linda expected the mutants they intercepted to be targeting the rocket.Nothing but mutts at the launchpad.Nothing but mutts at the topsider base.If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck … IT"S A TRAP!

Yesterday I said it’d be a pretty elaborate trap to be set by the topsiders just to capture or kill the few mutants they might expect to show up.

Now I’m wondering if the topsiders might not be after just any old mutants. I’m wondering if they may be after Flask herself…

I get the feeling that either the topsiders have left leaving the mutts in control or this set of topsiders have already lost the game. The ratio of mutts is way too high. Also the mutts seem to be suprized to see a Topsider (Flask in disguise). If the appearence of a topsider was expected not all of them would be staring at Flask.

Except the topiders do not know the location of Endtown. But if they did know, I doubt they would waste time luring anyone out.
