    My district is 4 blocks wide and twists for 350 miles.

    It’s what political parties do at redistricting time. The Republicans here in Texas have drawn a similar map, being challenged in the courtsIt’s a trick they learned from Tom Delay. And folks, it’s why every election has consequence not just the presidential ones.

    Redistricting must be done as state populations change. It would be nice if they were kept to regular shapes instead of drawn to one political party’s advantage.

    Use county jurisdictions + population, and open primaries. If a county earns two House members, pick the top two in open voting, not by party. That would = “local democracy”
