Of course, “My mistake” isn’t proper grammar either; to be a complete sentence, one would say “It was my mistake.” Even so, that falls short of being an apology; it’s simply an admission of error.

To maximize clarity, the phrase “My bad” should be replaced whenever it is uttered (or appears in print) by “Please excuse me, I am at fault and I regret my action.” That would be MUCH funnier, and of course there MUST be standards, else chaos will reign.

While we’re at it, all young people should refrain from treading upon my front lawn.

The Weingartens haven’t been to a shrink lately, have they. Word association and Rorschach blots have been discredited for some time.

Yeah, MDMA was originally synthesized in the early 1900’s to treat abdominal bleeding, but its psychotherapeutic effects weren’t exploited until about the 1970’s. It was really taking off in psychopharmacology just about the time it was hitting the party scene, and it only became Schedule I in 1985. It can no longer be legally administered (in this country, anyway), but research in other countries is ongoing.

Projective tests (like the Rorschach) have not been discredited, though it’s possible the Rorschach has because it is harder to make reliable than the TAT.

To the extent that a Roschach expects standardized responses to standardized blots, I can see that it would be discreditable. To the extent that a skilled reader might still find valuable material in free-associative responses to random stimuli, I could easily imagine that it remains a valuable tool.

The Psyce looks like an adult version of Marcie from the Peanuts cartoon.
