Joan: Sis, if you didn't worry about your teen-age daughter you wouldn't be NORMAL.
Joan: And remember, you have Mom and me to back you up...and Wally and Phil!
Val: I DO appreciate my village.
Joan: Just remember me when SHE'S 13!!
I usually like this comic. But then I remember that every comic about at parents has to have the stereotypical teenager with stereotypical teenage issues. I know teens aren’t in the target audience so I shouldn’t be that annoyed, but it just bothers me.
I think what bananaslug is implying is that they are in the teen age group and that this comic is not targeted to them, and they believe that not all teens are the stereotype. That being said, no teen thinks they are the stereotype teen. The majority are, even those straight A, honor roll kids (mine included) had their teen moments. My daughter was a good kid most of the time, but there were weeks at a time that I wanted to lock her in her room and slide food under the door. She scared us. Stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason.
When I was a teenager, I attended church three times a week and youth group every Friday night. I just hope teenagers today are church oriented to avoid all those stereotypes.

Yes, it takes a village to raise a child. But it takes a Viking to raze a village! :)
