not sure I get thisone…could be a couple of things…1. not dwell on how old A&J are now? 2. Not well on the fact that our kids a t that age have so much to experience?

“So, uh, what’s the worst part about being old, Alvin?”

“Well, the worst part of being old is remembering when you was young.”

My take is that Arlo is reflecting on the dreams they had which they failed to pursue. Regrets, I’ve had a few.

Here’s my take. Frame 2: Arlo thinks Janis is referring to all the great sex they had back then and is hoping to recreate some of those memories. Frame 3: Janis reflects upon those wild, crazy days and realizes that her little boy is creating his own memories now; Arlo’s expression changes from hopeful to sheepish. Frame 4: Fuhgettabowdit!

I think they are thinking of how much time has passed since they were their son’s age. Things like that tend to startle you when you come upon them suddenly.

At least you’ve got a kid, Arlo. Try getting past 40 knowing you’ll never be able to have any! :-(
