Chiggers that high in a tree? Suspension of disbelief only goes so far. Ticks possibly, but chiggers are in grass and occasionally shrubs, but never bare tree trunks and limbs.

hippo, yeah, ticks are heat seekers… They will jump from a tree to get at you. Can’t say I ever saw a chigger….
