On the news sometime back. There was a family that became foster family and wanted to adopt a boy that came from Rusia, I believe, became okay at first then little by little a nightmare, the boy started to try bad stuff including set the house on fire, the family sent the boy back by himself to Rusia. News tried to make that family look bad until they did research and found out Rusia is at fault. Adoptions stopped.Max your small listent to mom.

Timeouts work on some kids. Other kids need something a little more stern. And sometimes the problem is the parents. My neighbor has a 4 year old boy who is terrible, which the mom sort of recognizes that she needs to do something about. But every time she tells him something, he ignores her (a bit like Max) and she gives up. In my mind, no wonder he’s a terror; he needs consistent discipline and follow-up.

I have 3 kids. For two, time outs worked most of the time. The third you could time out til the cows came home and he just wouldn’t get it.

From experience, refusing to cooperate with a punishment just results in a harsher one.
