Don’t fret, Grannie, you have already solved bigger problems than the petulant teenager currently occupying the Oval Office.

I know it’s easier to prefer bigotry over facts, folks, but it’s the dissension in the elephant ranks that’s causing the problem.

The thing to keep in mind, spyderred, is that the people spewing nonsense in these cartoon comments are allowed to vote.

Oh, it’s LYNNE? By the way, Social Security is taxed into what is supposed to be a separate “fund”- it’s insurance. Medicare is taxed ( I paid my 7% for years) as a separate FUND for INSURANCE. Unemployment is “taxed” in a separate fund with employer and employee again paying in for INSURANCE, should it be needed. Taking from these “Separate funds” called “borrowing” is where Reagan and the complicit really started to give everyone the shaft, while corporate and wealthy “undertaxed” got into our underwear, big time.

Congress, the public, and especially the TEA party need to reflect on what the GENERAL FUND is supposed to pay for OUTSIDE the supposedly, and to date, self-supporting funds that folks have already paid for. Granted, Social Security is NOT SUPPOSED to be a “pension” merely a safety net, and folks lost sight of that, and started bleeding it off for other purposes, like disability, but maybe Congress should give serious consideration to revising all those additional hits both Republicans AND DEMOCRATS have struck on what under actuarial tables, should be doing just fine, thank you, very much.

Now maybe if we stopped blowing so many people up, we’d stop blowing the economy?

Ask not what your country will do for you; rather, ask what your country will do for you.

Refund all of the money I’ve paid into Social Security, preferably with interest, and I’ll be okay with eliminating it. But only with a full refund. Otherwise, fix it and stop diverting the funds.

Harley- my dad took SS early, at 62, and died the day his first check came. My mom will be 99 in two weeks, worked until she was 80. It’s not “getting back” but playing the law of averages. When you buy life insurance, the companies are betting you’ll live long enough to miss a payment and get cancelled. YOU are betting you DIE!! Okay, where’s the benefit to YOU??

Obama appointed more Czars in his 1st term than Russia ever had in total.,,,and used the word “Czars” to circumvent congress’s approval. Wonder how much that added to our debt?

Unfortunately, Kimberley, they’ve spent your payments on fighting wars and subsidising handouts to the rich so there’s only enough left to keep the politicians in state-funded healthcare and to pay spin-doctors to try to convince you that’s a good thing …

Narrowminded, you continue to try to run your narrow-guage on a standard gauge set of tracks, but only have one rail, that’s called an intellectual train wreck.
