Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for June 06, 1992
Transcript:
Calvin: Ok, you! Hobbes: Me?? Calvin: This story you wrote about me is about me trying to get out of writing the story! You made my time traveling sound like lunacy! And the illustration! You drew the three of me fighting! I was the laughing-stock of the whole class! Hobbes: What grade did it get? Calvin: Um...A+. She wrote, "Very creative. The 'tiger' narration was a clever touch. I'm glad you're finally applying yourself." ..But even so..!! Hobbes: A+?? Maybe I should send this to the New Yorker.

Huh. And a black hole wasn’t created as a result of him getting an A+. Well I’ll be damned

That’s because HE didn’t earn the A+. That was Hobbes. Also I love that innocent expression of Hobbes in the first panel.

You know, Calvin could have written about his time travels too and gotten an A.. hell, Calvin could write about ANYTHING he does in his imagination and get an A.
So really, he might suck at school, but he’s a genius of his own nature.

Yes, but doesn’t this bring into anyone’s mind about how Hobbes is just another personality, fighting to become the dominant in Calvin’s head. He always is the logical one, the one with the good ideas(that don’t get Calvin in trouble). Also the love from Hobbes(the maturing personality) for Susie, where as Calvin(as the kid personality) always trying to gross out Susie.

Sounds like Miss Wormwood is a fan of (what she believes to be) self-deprecating humor.

And in true Calvin spirit, he didn’t even read the marks before going off on Hobbes.
