Hey, I’d love to catch old age — not to be there now, but to know that’s how it will end. To those who had a loved one who died of it and find it a sad subject for a comic, remember, it means he or she made it! A long life that DIDN’T end with AIDS or cancer at 49 or getting hit by a car at 17 or 70. I’ve lost too many beloved people way too young; old age would have been far preferable.

Looks like Roscoe could use a flea collar.

It seems odd in this day and age that anyome could die of natural cause given all the other ways you can now go with advances in medical science.

Rosco wishes they stop the talk and give him attention. My grandma died of old age. My mom’s dad lived to be old age and health then got him. Other two grandparents died to young of health issues.

Also, that is why I avoid “natural causes”.

Nelson is going to start worrying about his grandparents. He needs some re-assurance and some philosophy about life and death.

@grog: Our bodies still break down as we age. Modern medicine can surely slow the process, but we can’t stop it.

Old age? A lot of that going around these days.

(I was a bit depressed yesterday looking at the website for my upcoming 50th high-school re-union. Sixty-one listed under “In Memoriam” in a class of about 450. Some of them were friends and it was the first I’d heard. But that’s life…and the other thing.)

I am so grateful for my life—even though it’s often painful. Thanks to all who served our country through conditions I can’t begin to imagine. I give thanks for you always!
