Why did I remember the phrase, “you haven’t got a prayer”?

I totally know how that feels. But fortunately I just got offered a job Friday afternoon… so pretty shortly being sick will actually be possible again.

Actually, Christian Scientists “opted out” a long time ago and do think prayer is going to solve a burst appendix and/or a congested heart

Ya never know. I had severe Congestive Heart failure in 1982 and was told would only live up to 2 years at most. I am here today because of prayer.

At least we won’t be denied health insurance for having a preexisting condition or have our insurance rescinded should we actually get sick. The current health care reform is too weak, but thank the GOP for that. I prefer a strong centralized single payer plan. Not perfect, but better and cheaper than what we now have.

The Single Pray-er Plan. The Republican Health Care plan was “repeal and replace”. Turns out the GOP-led House voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. A plan to replace it? Not so much. And now the Ryan budget effectively ends Medicare and Medicaid in favor of billions in tax breaks for millionaires. The GOP Health Plan: Don’t get sick. (And if you do get sick, die quickly.)

Dear God,-I know that my church leaders tell me to vote for Republicans in Your name. They say that only by electing “moral” leaders, You will shower us with the blessings we’ve begged of You for so long. Also, I’ve noticed that despite us electing Your chosen officials in 2010, You have not bestowed on our society ANY NEW JOBS.-Are You even there, God? Or have I been wasting my time voting for Evil Republicans in a fruitless effort to obtain Your approval, when it’s clear that if You were actually there, You would NOT approve of the party that hates old people and minorities.-Aaargh! Cognitive disconnect!! Painful!-Love, me.

When you live in a plutocracy, stuff happens. Republicans want us to go back to the old days, where the “help” depended on the plantation owner for care. If you weren’t working on a plantation, the best you could do is just crawl off in the woods and die.

“Adjusting for overall inflation, Medicare spending per beneficiary rose more than 400 percent from 1969 to 2009.But inflation-adjusted premiums on private health insurance rose more than 700 percent over the same period.”The Republican’s response: Push even more people into private insurance.

“Wing and a prayer” plus comments on “opt out”, make me think of the Ryan plan— it’s like skydiving-and opting out of having a parachute.

Thank you very much. I hope to continue to post from time to time but it may be limited more to evenings, depending on which job I end up in next month (a couple are still pending).

Simply tagging something with a name like “Oboma Care” is not going to work for the bigots who masquerade as Christians this time around. Too many people cannot get medical care and that is more important to them than tax cuts for the rich.

Turning to Mommy Government.“Mommy, those two women want to have a family like we do, stop them!”“Mommy, those that woman is taking birth control, stop her!”“Mommy, people are saying the word ‘gay’ in schools, stop them!”Totally a Liberal thing to do. *

The Republican plans, just like tax breaks for the rich, are exactly like a farmer killing his chickens to increase egg production- even prayers can’t make their plans work.

The Republicans are on record opposing the government creating jobs. They’ve blocked all nominees to the president’s board of economic advisors on the grounds that some of them believe that the government should work to create jobs. That is anathema to their philosophy.

I think the Chicken example dtroutma brings up pertains more to the Democrats; The Democrats want to starve the chickens, yell at them, insult them, make them pay, and then wonder why egg production plummets. Conservatives believe that those same chickens will produce a lot more eggs if they are given more feed and given whatever they need to produce more. I pray that Liberals will one day see that freedom and liberty are the most important gifts that we need to protect, not bloated government programs that have not solved a thing….except make China richer.

“I pray that Liberals will one day see that freedom and liberty are the most important gifts that we need to protect”- I laugh at this. ESPECIALLY after tonight’s GOP summit. Protecting freedom and liberty is NOT a Conservative (I’d make a distinction between social conservatives and economic conservatives but since you don’t know the distinction between various types of liberals, that distinction is likely lost on you). Taking it at every opportunity is the Conservative goal. So yes, let’s offer up some prayer. " The Democrats want to starve the chickens, yell at them, insult them, make them pay, and then wonder why egg production plummets."- It’s more like … those chickens have been gorging themselves for years while the ones working the fields to produce the feed have subsisted on bare minimums with no improvement to their well-being, the chickens have produced no eggs, and the Conservatives say “well, if you give the chickens even MORE feed, then they’ll produce eggs. As they’ve been saying for the past 10 years.”

Don’t worry, guys. Jesus is coming back soon. It’s ok to rape and pillage the planet. And if these atheist fools would just accept Him into their hearts, they wouldn’t have to worry about dying of starvation or lack of medical care. Man, why don’t they get that?
