If you can’t profit from sickness and disease, why be in the business?

Isn’t” for profit” health care like a “for profit” fire department?

Hey - I’m just glad that Dr. Mel is reading an actual printed clipboard chart. I figured everything would be paperless and electronic by then.

Forget uncle baraaaak, he will advise you every five years of your suicide options.

Send Oldbot to canada. at least he will rust to death while waiting in line.

I have a pre-existing condition which is fatal. There’s no cure and there’s no telling when it will kill me. Doctor says I just have to take it one day at a time. We all have it. By the way, the condition is old age.

Dutchboy 1: that’s what’s already happening here & has nothing what so ever to do with the dreaded (by Republicans) Reform…unless you honestly believe that insurance companies give a c-r-a-p about people….

    Dracip:

Actually I heard once that “for profit” fire departments was the norm, way back when. I found some evidence of this on Wikipedia as well:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_departments

Hopefully health care will advance someday also.

I understand a not-for-profit health safety net, but should the American people have to pay for my fertility meds? If so, can we then progress to not-for-profit car companies and wine vendors?

@Kaero: Those last two things probably won’t happen, because people can live without cars or wine (and especially without both at once) but a lot of people literally can’t live without health care.

As for fertility meds, it depends on your situation; if you’re just trying to become the next Octobeast (that’s my name for her), then I for one would say no.

I stopped worrying about this issue when I decided to become a citizen of a more advanced nation when I retire. I’m thinking either Costa Rica or Taiwan.

Just send OldBot to the nonexistant Counselers. Oh wait, that is in the bill. Oh, and Dracip, a fire department is the job of local Government, Healthcare isn’t.
