Also, where are you going to have a nice long chat with your daughter that you haven’t seen for a while: at home over a pizza or at a circus with three rings running full speed?

Amazon.com emailed me that Vol 8, “the Complete Dick Tracy” will be shipped in the next month. “Flattop - ‘43-‘44 with backgrounds and whole body art. This current strip is “lazy art” and will eventually doom this strip to the trash can. If Brozman does enough head shots with different expressions he can start recycling with new dialogs.

Locher has given him the a “second” makeover gone is the clefter Nixon double chin, IN is a new more masculine Tracy jaw. But no sign of Sam.You’ll see Teevo on Aug, 8
I’m starting to believe we may not see the Pouch returning and up to mid August we still have no identifiable villain. That wories me, Locher now includes “mysteries” in his repetoire, and this may be one of them. It’s the sort of thing we got in J kindly Goodfellow (2004) and J. Hennessey Tucker (2007). and you may remember those appologies for villains. “Mysteries” in Locher language is really a “code word” for a Creative Holiday, so don’t expect much, not even a four of diamonds.
You may have to be satisfied with a secondary character, Dick Locher’s plain version of Mandrake the Magician with a waxed mustache.
Wow, I actually feel kind of bad for Dick Tracy today, which is unusual. The poor guy just finished a four-month story line, and now he has to go to some lame “special” circus, instead of chillaxing with a slice? Cut poor Dick some slack, ladies!
I bet I can guess why the circus is so “special”. Do the animals and the performers have poorly drawn, deformed bodies?

.I don’t understand why , if one has a classic comic strip gig right in the palm of their misshapen little hands, the Locher team doesn’t explore and expand their talents to the greatest heights possible to do that strip the justice it deserves.
They don’t realize they are living the dream of millions of talente would- be-cartoonists who, given the opportunity, would spend many times the hours these guys put in and for a lot less $

I remember that sequence! I remember being fascinated with the explanation of how a valley on the moon could be inhabitable, and then outraged at the governor’s treachery. I was eight years old in 1964….
That was artwork! No disappearing houseplants or hands on backwards then….
Bonnie Braids was born 5/6/51. She gradually grew up ’ and became a teacher for Navajo Indian children in 1979 the year her little brother Joe was born. Then by some miracle Locher reimagined her into a little girl again around 1989 the age of ten. We last saw her grown again this time attending some college like John Jay to become a police woman. Now what? It appears she again has youthend to what appears to be a teenager. In real life she would be 58, Joe 30, and Dick 90!
Sydney, A HUGE thank you for that link. And we should thank Drex Files too. It took me a moment to realize how to navigate around the pages, then I sat and read them all up to today. I was only 9 when I first read those strips, but I am so amazed at how distinctly I remember reading about Moon Valley. Every day I would wait with great anticipation the arrival of the Daily newspaper so I could grab the comics page. It sure is nice to see hands, and all anatomy for that matter, drawn in proper proportions and perspective. That’s not even to mention REAL police work. I cannot imagine how the current DT writers/authors can see the old strips and still produce what we now have. This is not to disrespect Locher, it is more pointing out that they, the writers/artists, are direspecting what was, I am sure for many of us, our favorite strip. Add to that the point that he (Locher) had the privilege of studying along side the master himself. All I can do at this point is make that comment that our dear friend always left us with…………
