Oh glory I get to miss all that noise this year now I’m in Canada. It wasn’t nearly as loud here as in the states with those loud things going off til after midnight!
Mickjam: Theoretically, in the long run buying stuff should help them. The reason they’re in financial straits is that they’re customers are in financial straits and scared of spending money (as shown in previous customers). If they don’t buy anything, then they’re causing the stores the same financial straits. Hopefully, them buying things encourages others to buy things and this eventually circles back to them.

I’m glad that stuff isn’t legal here. My grandfather lost an arm when he was in his 20’s due to a Catherine wheel.

Wow. That’s all I can say. Wow. It’s like the time my dad brought us up to grandma’s (in ND) and we shot off a ton of fireworks! :)
