BTW, the whole “commandos with nicknames” thing sounds more like G. I. Joe than Top Gun.

Well, there’s Rich “Goose” Gossage, Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher who helped define the role of the dominating closer. He was certainly feared in his day…

We have a park nearby that has the nickname Goose Poop Park. One must tiptoe carefully through it.
