I love it when Hobbes utilizes his element of surprise.

My granddaughter sneaks up on me and grabs me and roars when she gets here with Mom or Dad. Our house is pretty sound proof so it’s hard to hear someone come in or a car pulls up to the house. My son and daughter-in-law both have a key so they can let themselves in when they arrive with all her stuff in hand. Even if she didn’t scare me I act like she did because she gets such a kick out doing it!

No doubt that comic book would make me twitch - but no not Calvin. It takes a sneaky tiger.

Humans grin with all their teeth hanging out and nobody thinks anything of it. When a tiger grins like that, everybody gets upset.

Poor Calvin, his tiger turns on him and now he is going to loose all his comic books. That poor kid just can’t catch a break.

Love the expression on Calvin’s face in the last panel. With the huge eyes he looks like a lemur holding onto his Mom.

You should not take his comic away dad,he will find a way to handle Hobbes.

This is my favorite C&H ever. I love the scare tactic instead of the usual mauling by Hobbes. LOL!!!

IMO, this was genius cartooning with the lead-up–the stealthy paw, etc. SO funny!

Dino I’m glad your that fun type of grandma. My mom when her only grandkids, sister can’t have kids, wouldn’t do that. But then she played with her grandkids when little different ways.

Hey Johanan Rakkav, if it wasn’t for the fact that my brother wouldn’t let me read his comic books, I might agree with you. He still hasn’t gotten around to selling them like he said he would.
